Stanley H. Irzyk was born in Manchester. He graduated from Manchester Central High School. Stanley served 21 years in the U.S. Army prior to his honorable discharge in 1972, having earned the Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal.

After retirement from the Army, he worked for Ford Vending until his retirement at age 62.

Throughout his travels while in the military, he would always take the time to learn everything about the location and bring his family to share sites and activities the area had to offer. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a lifelong bowler, having participated in numerous local bowling leagues. In his later years, he found great joy in thrift shopping and reading.
