Robert Sears was born on June 11, 1962, in Laconia, New Hampshire, to William E. and Lulu E. (Roberts) Sears. From a young age, Robert showed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the values of service and dedication—traits that would shape both his personal life and military career.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Senior Airman. His assignments took him across the globe, from Dugway Proving Ground in Utah to Hahn Air Base in Germany, and finally to Pease Air Force Base in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Throughout his service, Robert exemplified professionalism, loyalty, and a strong sense of duty.

Following his honorable discharge, Robert continued to serve his community in civilian life. He worked for several years as an air driver for UPS in Manchester and Bedford, where he was known for his reliability and work ethic.

A true New Englander at heart, Robert found joy in life’s simpler pleasures. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting—especially with his father—as well as skiing, ice climbing, and hiking New Hampshire’s rugged peaks, including Mount Washington and the famed Tuckerman Ravine. He was also a skilled competition shooter and a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Above all, Robert cherished time spent with family, especially during gatherings that brought everyone together.

Robert passed away in 2016 and now rests with honor at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, a place reserved for those who have served our nation with dignity and courage.

In a touching tribute to his life and legacy, those wishing to honor Robert have been encouraged to make donations to the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery Association (NHVCA). Additionally, the Bearcamp Valley Sportsman Club, an organization dear to his heart, has generously contributed over the years in Robert’s memory—keeping his love of the outdoors and sportsmanship alive for future generations.

Robert Sears will be remembered not only for his service to his country but also for his enduring spirit, his love for the land he called home, and the lives he touched along the way. We honor and appreciate his sacrifice and the legacy he leaves behind.
