Robert P. Gabriel was born in March 1924 and raised in Nashua, New Hampshire. Like many of his generation, his early adulthood was defined by the global upheaval of the 1940s, leading him to enlist in the military to serve his country during its greatest time of need.

He served in the United States Army during World War II, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Gabriel’s service took him to the European Theater, where he faced the harrowing realities of frontline combat. During the height of the conflict, he was captured by enemy forces and held as a Prisoner of War (POW).

Following his liberation and the conclusion of the war, Gabriel returned to civilian life in New Hampshire. He passed away in January 2006, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and quiet dedication to duty.
