Richard M. Sivigny, affectionately known as “Ziggy” to his crew, was known for his selfless and kind-hearted nature, which endeared him to his coworkers and community. He grew up on his family farm in Wallingford, CT. After high school, Rich pursued a career in the military, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1975, as an aircraft mechanic. He extended his military career by enlisting in the Air National Guard and was later stationed at Pease Air National Guard Base in Newington, NH. Rich retired as a (?) Master Sergeant after a 33-year career. He was highly respected by his colleagues and peers as he was known for his dedicated leadership. “A good friend who as a Supervisor stood up for his troops whenever the need arose!” “Best damn aircraft and car mechanic I ever met.” As a veteran, Richard deeply loved his country and served in both the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm.
