Raymond Harry Simoneau was born in Laconia, New Hampshire, where he resided for the majority of his life. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his country during the Korean Conflict.

During his initial three years of active duty, he deployed to Korea. His service during the war earned him the Korean Service Medal featuring three bronze service stars.

Following his initial term, Simoneau reenlisted in the U.S. Army to serve an additional three years as a recruiter. He guided prospective soldiers until his honorable discharge in Laconia in 1956, having achieved the rank of Sergeant (Temporary).

Upon completing his military service, he spent decades working in sales and real estate in the Lakes Region before passing away at his home in Belmont, New Hampshire. He was laid to rest with full military honors at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
