Priscilla J. Remillard’s journey began in Cambridge, Massachusetts, but her legacy of service is deeply rooted in New Hampshire. In 1967, she entered the United States Navy, beginning a three-year enlistment during the height of the Vietnam War. Her service took her from the humid coast of Florida to the intelligence hubs of the nation’s capital.

During her first assignment in Pensacola, Florida, Priscilla famously experienced a rare Southern snowfall, with colleagues waking her specifically so the New England native wouldn’t miss a piece of home. She later transferred to Washington, D.C., where she worked at the Naval Reconnaissance and Technical Support Center (NRTSC) in Suitland, Maryland. There, she performed classified work that utilized her keen eye, processing negatives into photos—a role that likely sparked her lifelong passion for photography.

After her honorable discharge in 1970, Priscilla returned to New Hampshire, settling in Auburn. She spent her civilian career as a supervisor for New England Telephone and later served her community through roles at the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport and the City of Manchester. She spent her final years as a resident of the VA Nursing Home in Tilton, remaining a proud veteran of the “Silent Service” era.
