Born in 1952, Leo Trudel grew up in the city of Lowell before answering the call to serve his country. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, entering military service during the height of the Vietnam War. His time in the Marines defined a lifelong commitment to his fellow service members and the values of the Corps.

Following his honorable discharge, Trudel settled in Derry, New Hampshire, where he became a fixture in the local veteran community. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion Lester Chase Post #9. Trudel was particularly known for his commitment to the Honor Guard, ensuring that fallen comrades were sent to their final rest with the respect and military honors they deserved. Outside of his service work, he was a familiar face at the local billiards tables, enjoying the camaraderie of a game of pool. He passed away in 2017 at the age of 65.
