Kenneth Earl Young was born on May 6, 1929, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Harry and Eugenia (Ringenwald) Young. He grew up in Manchester and attended West High School before enlisting in the military.

In 1946, Young joined the U.S. Army. During his military service, he performed as a musician with the 501st Air Force Band while stationed in Hawaii for three years. He later received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force.

Following his military service, Young obtained his GED and went on to graduate from the Bentley School of Accounting and Finance in 1951. Professionally, he worked for New Hampshire Insurance in Manchester before spending the majority of his career at Workplace Systems in Londonderry, New Hampshire, where he eventually retired as Treasurer.

Young was a resident of Londonderry for 54 years, living in the home he built in 1972. Beyond his primary career, he remained active as a trumpet player in big bands and small ensembles for 30 years. He also volunteered for a decade playing Taps for services at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire. Additionally, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5260 for over 50 years, serving in leadership roles as Grand Knight and Financial Secretary.

Kenneth Earl Young died on August 20, 2026, at his home in Londonderry, New Hampshire, at the age of 97.
