John was a Disbursing Petty Officer, 2nd Class (DK2T), serving on the USS Manchester while serving in the Korean War.

John was the son of Doris and Albert Marrapese. Prior to moving his family to Franklin, NH in 1961 he resided in Bangor and Presque Isle, ME. He spent his youth in Jaffrey, NH. John was a graduate of Conant High School and 1956 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in business. John was employed in sales for the National Cash Register Company for over 35 years and prior to his retirement, worked with Capital Cash Register in Concord, NH. John was a Mason and long time member of the Meridian Lodge #60, F & A.M in Franklin, NH and served as treasurer for over 20 years. He was one of the founders of the Webster Lake Association in Franklin, NH. John was passionate about the preservation of the lake and he and his family enjoyed many wonderful years together there. Over the years, John enjoyed hiking and hunting.
