Conrad A. Perreault was born Troy, NH.  A longtime resident of Hillsboro, NH, he was a 1952 graduate of Hillsboro High School. Conrad served in the Navy until 1956, as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (AB) on the USS Midway and USS Oriskany, he reached the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer and remained a proud Korean War-era veteran.
Utilizing the GI Bill, Conrad earned a B.Ed. from Plymouth Teachers College in 1960, a Master’s from UNH in 1965, and an Ed.D. in Science Education from the University of Northern Colorado in 1972. His 37-year career in education included teaching at Hopkinton High School, New England College, Nathaniel Hawthorne College, Lyndon State College, and Keene Junior High/Middle School. He retired in 1997.

Conrad was a tireless advocate for veterans. He held numerous leadership roles at the Keene VFW Post 799, including 4 years as its commander and he also was a District 5 commander. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, most recently with Keene Post 4. He was also a member of AMVETS, Keene Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus, and the Monadnock and State retired teacher associations.

As a member of the Korean War Veteran National Association, he founded the NHKWVA Chapter 320 in 2010, to ensure Korean War veterans were never forgotten. He served as its Commander and Secretary/Treasurer until 2025.

An outdoor enthusiast, Conrad enjoyed bicycling, skiing, and camping with family and friends and also with NAFCA’s Monadnock 66 Chapter. He cherished a 1988 cross-country family camping trip. His family was very special to him, especially his three grandchildren.
