I joined the Air Force one month after my 17th birthday, 8/7/59. I was discharged on 8/6/63. I was promoted to E-4 on 1 June 62 at the age of 19 which was considered very young.

I joined the NHANG on 9-7-63, the next drill weekend after leaving the Air Force. I earned my 7-Level in Airborne Radar Navigation Equipment repair, scoring at the 75th percentile as a Guardsman competing against Regular Air Force members. I was promoted to E-6 in 1965 at the age of 23, also very young for that rank.

I was the first Technician to work at Pease in December of 1965 when I switched to C-97G Flight Simulator Supervisor who was transferred to the ANG when the 509th Bomb Wing was deactivated. The rest if the NHANG started moving from Grenier in early 1966. I resigned from the NHANG on 1-18-67 when my new employer moved me to California.

My time as simulator supervisor launched into a career as a Vice-President of the one-time largest simulator manufacturer after spending almost 25 years with Flight Safety International as Director of Air Carrier Operations, responsible for 6 training centers supporting Boeing 737/757/767 & McDonnell Douglas DC-9/DC-10/MD-80 pilot training programs. I spent my last 17 years before retiring running my own consulting company with Boeing as my customer. I moved back to Bow, NH in November 1995 and later retired in Las Vegas. I have my burial document for the NH Veterans Cemetery which will be my final resting place.
